Ancient Australia Unearthed : A New Pozible Campaign
Unless you've been living under a rock for the last five years or so you would be well aware of the rise - and rise - of self publishing. While some would argue that this isn't always a good thing, depending on the quality of the writing and the publication process - it does mean that it's now possible for writers to circumvent traditional publishing houses and get work out to their audiences much more quickly in a form they are completely happy with. It's for this reason that Melbourne writer, teacher and archaeologist Thea Kinsela has opted to self publish her new project Ancient Australia Unearthed. Because heaps of teachers have asked me for resources to teach a new Australian Curriculum topic 'Ancient Australia', a topic for which there is very little available for teachers. So rather than write a gazillion lengthy emails in response to questions and info requests, I just decided to write a book. I know. Crazy. But also - I must admit - heaps of fun! The book, Ancient Australia Unearthed, is scheduled to be released in early 2014. 
Thea has chosen to self publish this book in order to get it into the hands of Australian school kids as fast as possible. In order to do that she's set up a Pozible campaign to fund the publication of the book. You can read more about it here:
The target is $10,000 - this will cover the cost of professional design, typesetting, and the first print run. The full total needs to be reached in order for the project to continue.
