Writing Resolutions
Well, it's that time of year again, time to move on from the old and embrace the new. If you're anything like me you'll have spent the last few days pondering what changes you want to make to your life in general and to your writing life in particular. So without further ado, here are my writing resolutions for 2011:Β
- Write every day, even if it's only for ten minutes. Yes, I know, you've heard it before but now's as good a time as any to try it again. If Β it's good enough for Stephen King, it's good enough for me.
- Nurture my creativity in a new way each week. Whether it's cutting out pictures from magazines, taking photos of what's around me, reading something new and inspiring, visiting a gallery or going on a long, peaceful walk and letting my mind meander, this year I plan to expand my creative horizons.
- Set writing goals each week and month and stick to them. To make this happen I'll be using a diary and a daily planner in an effort to hold myself accountable.
- Finish my next novel. Which first came into existence in November 2009 as a Nano project. This is the year it will be completed and sent out into the world.
- And my final but most challenging goal is to do everything I can to get my novel Shallow Crossing into print. Wish me luck!
So, they're my writing goals for the year. Maybe by posting them here and sharing them with the big, wide, writing world I'll make more effort to actually see them through.I'd love to hear what you're writing goals are - maybe we can keep each other on track?
